Contact Me 我的联络方式

OK, I’m longer in Changchun, but back in the UK trying to get into a career more relative to my qualifications, long term with prospects.  It isn’t easy!    There isn’t much to write about living in the UK, though things are unlike Changchun and It Is very hard adapting to the way of life here.  I forgot how bad the  food is here   (太难吃了呵呵) and it seems the general lifestyle is more unhealty and controlled – to name but a few things… Anyway, hope to update this site with some of the more interesting things that happen to me.

This blog is just written to give a little more information about what things are really like and as a way to keep in touch with friends and family back home. I write what I think and as informatively as possible, make comparisons between here and the west. I hope that what is written on this site some people find useful, if you have any questions about what I write, feel free to email me at the address below.

  1. Dear David,

I got a job offer to work as a teacher in Changchun and before deciding anything I would really like to talk to someone who is living there or has recently lived there. Could you give some advice about the pollution and live there. I have a son of 6 years old and I don´t know if it is a healthy city. Can you please reply us as soon as possible? thanks a lot and I hope to hearing from you soon,

    Núria

    • The pollution is an issue now, it’s really become quite smoggy in the last 7-8 years as traffic and car ownership has exploded. Saying that you’ll experience this in any Chinese city and in that regard it’s no worse than Beijing or the large metropolises where the pollution is off the scale.

  2. Hi David,

I was wondering more about your teaching experience in Changchun.

I have an interview with a university there in a couple of days, and was wondering, would you recommend this position to others?

Any other things I should know beforehand would be great as well!

    Thanks!

  3. Dear David,

I am about to accept an offer from Changchun Normal University and I would like to talk with someone who either worked for the university or has some experience with it. In you list with trustworthy universities, you mentioned Changchun’s Teachers college. I believe that it is the same university with the one I was offered a job, is that correct? Any information related to the university would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Adam

  5. Dear David,

hope you still read and use your blog. My name is Saskia. I am living in Beijing at the moment. My husband is working in CC. Until now it was not possible for me to find a job in CC. So I thought about some work experiance in teaching rather German or English. Maybe you have some hints and ideas which schools I could contact in CC.
A reply would be much appreciated!
